Development occurs everywhere, in countries rich and poor, it is a process with several related aspects poliical, social, human, and economic. Economic development: karl marx outlined stages of economic development that various socieies go through. Others viewed development as part of the colonial enterprise of clearing forests, extracing resources, and otherwise harnessing nature"s bounty for human goals. During the 20th century development came to be associated with increasing the welfare of poorer countries.
