In the near future police agencies across canada will likely experience a substantial shortage of police officers: the vancouver police department is taking lead on the new initiative to begin advertising for and recruiting officers through social media. 1. 00 = strong negative relationship - as performance on the selection instrument increases, ratings of job performance decrease. The ten highest ranked police stressors among ontario officers: the feeling that different rules apply to different people, fatigue, feeling like you always have to prove yourself to the organization. Inconsistent leadership style: dealing with the court system, bureaucratic red tape, not enough time available to spend with friends and family, shift work, finding time to stay in good physical condition, perceived pressure to volunteer free time. Job performance problems can result in a decrease in work efficiency and productivity, increased absenteeism and tardiness, and early retirement.
