Genome: refers to the complete set of genes an organism has in which contains about 20,000-30,000, 23 pairs of chromosomes and get a set each from the mom and the dad. The nucleus of each cell within the body contains two complete sets. the only exception are red blood cells, which do not have any genes, female egg cells, and sperm which all have one copy. Human genome project: dedicated to sequencing the entire human genome - identifying the particular sequence of dna molecules of the human species. Findings: like mice and worms, the manner in which human genes get decoded into proteins tuns out to be more variable than other species. Researchers in this eld attempt to determine the degree to which individual differences in personality are caused by genetics and environmental differences. The discovery of a speci c gene for novelty seeking: extraverted, impulsive, extravagant, quick tempered etc. Designer babies: parents select from the genetic check list.
