Interpretation- is the second level of cognition, it is the making sense, or explaining various events. It is about trying to explain question: conscious goals-is the third level of cognition. Intelligence is the final aspect of cognitive approach, but it is still controversial: field dependence vs. field independence-was first studied witkin and it is concerned with different perception styles. Ex: some people focus on the details and are unable to see the. Personality revealed through perception bigger picture: rod and frame test (rft)-is an apparatus that was invented by witkin to test field dependence. Participants have to adjust the tilt of a glowing rod without using the visual field for cues. In the eft there are simple figures hidden within a scene that participants must find.
