A study from the national research council concludes that by year 2030 computers will displace humans in 60 percent of the current occupations. Data mining: is the process of searching huge amounts of data with the hope of finding a pattern. Allows retailers to respond to consumer buying patterns: can keep track of purchases customers are making, along with their geographical data, past buying history and list of items they examined but did not buy. Can be translated into extremely specific marketing that is immediate and customized to your shopping experience. This is the motivation behind discount cards at grocery and drug stores.
