Reasoning is cognitive activity that transforms information in order to reach specific conclusions which may or may not be correct. Rational decision making is making decisions in a cool, mathematical way: rational considerations are utilities of values to you of each alternative; probability of results occurring. Informal decision making is the more common (everyday process) which relies on hunches, intuition, information from memories, and opinions from others. The tendency to become increasingly committed to bad decisions even as losses associated with them increase. Rumors are collective behaviours that can take many forms, some of these are driven by fear and worry.
