Ethics and strategic planning: why is this bothering me, is it my responsibility, what is the ethical concern, what do others think, am i being true to myself? (mirror test) How to address strategic ethical decision making from a global perspective. Product failure, vandalism, strike, etc: internal-abnormal, crisis occurs within the organization but is rare and unpredictable, ex. Corporate scandal, copyright infringement, etc: external-normal, crisis occurs outside the organization and is relatively predictable, crisis could affect more than one organization, ex. Three levels of corporate culture: artifacts, factors such as what is seen and heard within a firm, ex. Language used or dress code within the workplace: shared values, based on what groups within the firm learn about what is acceptable or not acceptable, basic assumptions, the agreed starting point for decision making within the firm.
