Made up of employees from same hierarchical level but different work areas, who come together to accomplish a task. Time-consuming as members learn to work with diversity and complexity. Collaborative effort of individuals with diverse skills. Uses computer technology to tie together physically dispersed members to achieve a common goal. Collaborate online via wide-area networks, social media, email, and video conferencing.
