Eliminating need for sleep while maintaining level of both cognitive & physical performance of indiv will create fundamental change in war-fighting force employment. Various researchers have suggested that one night"s loss of sleep results in 30% loss in cognitive performance, rising to 60% after 2 nights. When drug wears off, can lead to rebound effect causing extreme fatigue/depression. Has potential to keep army on its feet & fighting for 3 days & nights w/ no major side effects.
