By conceptualizing research as holistic process, we are able to attend to range of influential factors, including. Assumptions about what can be known & who can be knower. Kinds of research questions we want to ask & to whom. Kind of data we want to produce. Practical considerations such as time, money, career, physical safety, emotional well-being. Holistic approach to knowledge building stresses link b/w research question & methods. Methods are but one part of research endeavor. Research question & method should always work in tandem. From vast range of options available to qualitative researchers, from perspectives to methods to representational forms, qualitative research process truly requires creativity.
