Applied research: stems from a need for speciic facts and indings with policy implicaions. Evaluaion: used to evaluate the efects of speciic criminal jusice programs. Analysis: analysis of general jusice policies and more speciic problems, ex. What if quesions are addressed by analysis problems. Diferent from other forms of research in its focus on anicipaion of future consequences and alternaive acions. How to design a research project: the research process. An iniial interest may lead to formulaion of an idea, which may be it into a larger theory, and the theory may produce new ideas and create new interests: geing started.
