This argument is quite vague and cannot be analysed further because of confusion: there is an inductive analogy. Television viewers are being compared to people who only see images would never know reality. The primary subject are television viewers while the analogue is plato"s story. It is argued that the real world cannot be known from the experience of a screen from a stationary position on a couch. This is an a priori analogy because plato"s story is fictional. The inductive analogy is average in terms of strength because the analogue and primary subject groups are vague. A generalization is being made towards all television viewers.
