Fitter snacker must develop a forecast of customer demand, and then develop a production schedule. The snack bar line can produce 200 bars a minute, or 3,000 pounds of bars per hour. Raw materials are taken from the warehouse to one of four mixers. 500-pound batches taking 15 minutes of mixing time, plus 15 additional minutes for unload, clean, and load for next batch. Therefore it produces 500 pounds of dough per hour. After mixing, the dough is dumped into a bin at the beginning of the snack bar line. The dough is moulded into bars, and then taken through an oven and baked for 30 minutes. After they are baked they are packaged in foil paper, and packed 24 per display box. Switching the bar line from one bar to another takes 30 minutes. Capacity is the amount of bars that can be produced.
