Allowing employees to use personal devices at work may lead to greater levels of productivity in the workplace. Firstly, the employee would be familiar with the device they are using, so there will be no time wasted on training personnel on how to use all the features on a standard device offered by the employer. Not to mention that the employee would be able to use the device that is most suitable for their needs. For example, someone in sales who is constantly travelling may prefer a large smartphone with lots of storage and the ability to store documents. Other employees may feel that they need a simple smartphone with basic features. When everyone has their own smartphone at work, they are able to customize their smartphone to their liking and still get their work done. This may motivate the employees to be more productive.
