Handshake experiment: had people shake hands with person before and after, they then took a big 5 personality test, neurotic = weaker handshakes, emotionally stable= firmer, women with firmer handshakes= more open to new experiences. What"s missing from the five factors: is intelligence a personality trait. Generally cognitive traits are not considered personality traits. New study shows intelligence level may affect personality. Does not fit into cognitive ability or iq measurement. Individual differences in how people percieve and process information about the social world. Does not fit well into personality: is religiosity a personality trait. Many people say spirituality is more then a belief it defines who a person is. However it is not focused on in psychology. Goldberg (1998) says religiosity is a secondary trait not a core part of personality. The ability of individuals to "stand out-side of their immediate sense of time and place to vire life from a more objective perception.
