Air pressure cause membrane to vibrate which is sent to the ossicles: ossicles: three bones of middle ear in air lled chamber that send mechanical signals to the cochlea that generate neural response through moving the uid. Stapes: attached to oval window: the point of entry for sound energy into inner ear (cochlea) Bones maximize transmission of sound from outer to inner ear.
