Explain what intelligence is and how it is measured. Factor analysis: a form of statistical analysis, where if a group of items correlate highly with each other, factor analysis can provide evidence that they are measuring the same thing. A mother may conclude that lumps under a blanket is a single object, a sleeping child. G=general intelligence (spearman) used indifference as an indicator, such that the content of test items and the nature of the task used to test general intelligence didn"t seem to affect test scores much. There seemed to be an association between an individuals score of mathematical and vocabulary, so either could be used to test intelligence . Came with resistance because of socioeconomic disparities with the intellectual playing field. Intelligence testing has been used in the past to support racist policies, fear this will happen again in the future.
