More education and skills - linked with rising leels of stress rather than increased well-being at work. Job security, non-wage benefits and opportunities for advancement are as important as wages. Content of work and labour process - less measurable but also important. Cprn found that a large number of workers - emphasis on having interesting and personally rewarding work - enjoying some autonomy - ability to exercise and develop skills and capacities. Most important criteria of job quality - being in a healthy and safe work environment. Good work place: interaction with co-workers, active participation and democratic control of work place. 7 dimensions of employment with relevance to well-being (1) job and employment security. Unemployment bad for material and mental health reasons.
