Looks at complex molecules (such as hemoglobin) and their ability to break down hazardous free radicals in the body. We are always on the search for newer more effective materials chemistry is on the leading edge of this development. Society is looking for solutions to pollution. Biggest source of pollution is the combustion engine. A solution is to combust hydrogen instead of gasoline. Hydrogen must be stored properly it can explode (hindenburg) Elements burn in a heat source and emit different colours used in street lamps and fluorescent lights. Knowledge of molecules and compounds can prevent us from infection (ex: argyria) Our knowledge can protect us from false advertising in the media.
