Gordon allport created the society for the psychological study of social issues. Lewin helped establish that behavior is a function of the interaction between the person and the environment : interactionist perspective, which emphasized the dynamic interplay of internal and external factors. A study showed that based on cultural differences it would be more motivating for asian- American than for european-american students as they were about to try the tast for the second time. Whereas, for europeans-americans they worked better when they thought about themselves. In the first place there is conceptual variables (prejudice, attraction, love etc ). then comes the operational definition a measurable way for the conceptual variable. Women in one study achieved greater academic success at an engineering. Self reports can be individual questions or sets of questions that together measure a single conceptual variable, but they can be misleading and not always accurate.
