Evaluation includes patient evaluation of progress toward goals goals. Standards of nursing practice authoritative statements that promote, guide, direct and regulate professional nursing practice. The nurses primary source for data collection is the patient. The secondary sources of data collection are family members, friends, neighbours, police, health care workers, and medical records. Nurses are able to conduct a nursing family assessment with the patient and his/her significant others in order to fully understand the patients resources, supports, and problems within their life. The child is the best source for gathering data in regards to their emotions: however, the caregivers/parents are good sources when asking about the child"s behaviour, performance, and attitude.
