Students with severe disabilities are more likely to present problem behaviour during teaching sessions. Problem behaviours: aggression, physical resistance to trials, distuption of teaching materials. Dislike (avoid/escape) of teaching procedures can be due to: e ort required to respond to instructions, the physical prompting strategies being employed, unpleasant experiences associated with poor success in the past. If students enjoy participating in teaching sessions, there is no reason for them to engage in problem behaviour to avoid or escape the sessions. Setting the occasion for an enjoyable teaching session. Sunday, february 23, 2020: establish a good relationship or rapport with the student. Spend time doing things with the student for the sole purpose of helping the student have fun doing activities with the teacher (15min/day) Help the student avoid or change things that are disliked by the student. Arrange the environment in which the session will occur to suit the student"s preference.
