Solon accepted the rebuilding of athens and divided the population into 4 classes: highest economic worth retaining the most power, the lowest economic worth being exempt from taxes. Irritated by the sophists and their teaching of logic as a means of achieving self- centered ends and their promotion of the idea that all things are relative. Good acts should be considered good because it is useful in our e orts to be better and happier people. Reality is divided into 2: ultimate reality (ideals) and phenomena (things as they seem to us, which are associated with matter, time, and space) Ideas are available to us through thought (soul), phenomena are available to us though our senses (body) Rather than bad being a sin, it is a matter of ignorance so they should be educated not punished.
