Showed how learning was under the influence of experience and that association could be built up in consciousness . Pavlov was studying the role of salvia in digestive processes of dogs when he stumbled onto. Psychic reflexes dogs responded to clicking sound made by device that was used to present the meat powder; investigated further and used various stimuli that would stand out in the lab situation (ex: tone)
