Module 13- human development (language, emoional & social development in childhood) Baby told father to make father warmer but actually meant bring water to the temperature we call warm. Development of language is criical to children"s early emoional life and their relaionships w/ other people. Social development; study of children"s emerging relaionships w/ others which is rooted in emoional atachment and the need for physical contact. Babies learn to communicate w/ people around them long before they can speak (crying to communicate distress or anger) Development of spoken language that is criical in terms of fostering social and emoional development. Shared signals are created, including touching, vocalizing, gazing and smiling; these signals establish a patern of conversaional turn taking (alternate sending and receiving of messages) The more children interact w/ their parents, the faster they learn to talk, the faster they learn thinking abiliies; language development is closely connected to the child"s social relaionships.
