Another emphasizes the need to go beyond the limitaions of the transmission model of teacher educaion with a call to ind an alternaive way of creaing eicient teaching professionals. Language pedagogy must be sensiive to a paricular group of teachers teaching a paricular group of learners pursuing a paricular set of goals within a paricular insituional context embedded in a paricular sociocultural milieu. Pedagogy of paricularity is consistent with situaional understanding which claims that a meaningful pedagogy cannot be constructed without a holisic interpretaion of paricular situaions and that it cannot be improved without a general improvement of those paricular situaions. Paricularity is something we learn; it is at once a goal and a process.
