Position Paper: Terminally Ill Instructions
Overview
Position papers provide you an opportunity to explore difficult issues. By researching topics that can be sensitive you will have the opportunity to analyze it though your Biblical worldview and academic knowledge. As future health professionals you need to be prepared for difficult situations and discussions.
INSTRUCTIONS
For this position paper, you will consider the ethics of assisting a terminally ill patient to end his/her life. Is this humane or murder? The paper must include an examination of both sides of the argument to demonstrate you understand the disagreement among practitioners.
Answer the following question:
What is your philosophy regarding euthanasia? Is there ever a time when it is the "right thing to do?" How does this position align with a biblical worldview? Support your answer with your textbook, peer-reviewed literature, and with Scripture.
Your paper should be 10 pages, not including a title page and bibliography. You must use at least 10 peer-reviewed sources; not including your textbook and Scripture, which must be used to support your paper. The paper should be written in current APA formatting.
