1. If a woman does not say "no" to sex, does that mean she is consenting?

•  To what degree does poor communication between men and women lead to a potential rape situation?
•  Should men take the responsibility of asking women if they want to continue rather than wait for her to say something or assume she is consenting?

2. A popular saying for buttons and T-shirts reads, "What part of 'No' don't you understand?" Do you think that men really don't understand that when women say "no", they mean "no"?

•  Are some women socialized to say "no" but mean "yes"?

3. Do you think that early social norms like "women should not be promiscuous" and "women should not pursue men" and the fact that the primary purpose of women's bodies is to produce life, perpetuated rape culture?

4. How much does 'the social pressure' on males to have sex play into the incidence of rape?

•  Why do you think the incidence of rape is so much higher in the U.S. than in Great Britain or Japan?

• What is Ecological Modernization and how does it work?
  • How can this be done in an opportunistic way?
  • Can we adapt the current system to specifications of EcologicalModernization?
    • Think about this in terms in of markets, taxes, incentives, and international law/global accords?

• Can this allow them to not repeat the mistakes of the developedworld?

• How does this reinforce the concept of Ecocentrism that we discussed in the beginning of the semester?
• Do we have time to Green the Liberal State, given the nature of democratic politics?
• Is Populism an obstacle, or can it too be manipulated to help green the state?
  • Where might this be hard, and where might this be easier?
