Here we have been given a compound and need to draw the Lewis structure for the same .Also we have to find out whether it is an Ionic or Covalent compound

We know that for Lewis structure we should be writing down all the valance electrons for all the atoms
we also know by electronic configuration that,
Valence electron for Phosphorus = 5
valence electrons for Bromine= 7
have total valence electron equals 5+ 7 3 = 26 electrons
Boron here is the central atom due to its less electronegativity.
(Boron Tri-iodide) has total 26 electrons and 6 shared electrons.
