Given information
According to the question, the motion of a particle is plotted. Along the X-axis time is shown and along the Y-axis the position of that particle is plotted.
We have to describe in words the motion plotted in the Fig. 2–32 in terms of velocity, acceleration.

Average velocity of a particle is defined as the slope of the vs. graph, when the particle mover linearly with time.
For non-linear motion of a particle, the average velocity at a given point can be obtained as the slope of a line tangent to the vs. curve at that point.
