Opponents to a ban argue that the importing country should not apply their standards of what constitutes acceptable labor standards. Rather, the only issue that the importing country should be concerned about is if the product is safe for use or if they are selling their products below their cost that threatens the importing country. They point out that these are considered acceptable jobs overseas and that the only alternative for many of these workers is human trafficking or joining criminal gangs.
