A 0.2480g sample of an Al-Zn alloy reacts with HCl to formhydrogen gas:
given: R= 0.08206, 0 degrees C = 273.2 K
and the molar relationships: Al (s) + 3H+ ---> Al3+ + 3/2H2(g); Zn (s) + 2H+ ---> Zn2+ + H2 (g)
question 1. The hydrogen gas produced was collected over waterand has a volume of 165 mL at 22.5 degrees celcius and 750 torr.Calculate the mass percent of Aluminum in the alloy.
I am confused as to where to being and how to solve the problem;somebody please help!
