Given line L1: x = 8 t + 9, y = 5-5t, z = 7t + 4 , determine whether line L2: x = 20s+3, y = 7s-7. z = 9s+9 is parallel to, skew to. or intersects L1. If It intersects, find the point of intersection. L2 is skew to L1 L2 intersects L1 at (17, 0,11) L2 is parallel to L1 L2 intersects L1 at (25, -5,18)

The cross product of their direction numbers is: |I 3 -1 j 2 4 k -5 -3| = (a 4i + 14j + 14k). which is the same direction as (i+j+k). The two parallel planes containing the given lines are: p1 : (x -1) + (y-3) +(z+2) = 0 or x+y+z-2=0 and p2 : (x-4) + (y=5_+)z_3)= o or x+y+z-12=0 The distance between the parallel planes: (Here I used Pt and a point on L1.) Exercise Find the minimum separation of the lines L1= (2+t)I + (1-2t)k and L2 = (1+3t)I + (-4+t+(5-t)k.
Find an equation for the plane that contains the two lines L1: x = t + 2, y = 3t -5, z = 5t + 1 and L2: x = 5 - t, y = 3t - 10, z = 9 -2t.
