Hist 214 short paper 2 - the changing role of motherhood. Compared to today, the roles of each member of a standard family has evolved considerably since the victorian era. In a traditional victorian family, each member had their specific roles to fulfill. The victorian family was considered to be a very valuable part of society. Very strict guidelines were followed by the families throughout this time. Mothers, fathers, and children contributed to their families in different ways during this era, and these living styles have changed drastically compared to today"s families. For our purposes we will be focusing on the evolution of the role of the mothers, and their relation to feeding the infant children. The role of a mother as a member of a victorian family has evolved considerably over the centuries and is distinguishably different from how this role is interpreted today.
