Production is done by family members and same-sex groups. Production takes place in the home or in fields and other areas adjacent to the home. People are evaluated informally according to how they fulfill their traditional roles, such as friends evaluate one another today. Production is done by workers hired for the job. Production typically takes place in a centralized location (decentralization occurs in the information society) Tasks are assigned according to agreements and training. The how of production is evaluated; the goal is to make the process more efficient. Relationships based on contracts, which change as the situation.
