Inspect and palpate: skin profile sign capillary refill symmetry radial pulses, ulnar pulses brachial pulses epitrochlear lymph node. Inspect, then turn the person"s hands over, noting colour of skin and nailbeds; temperature, texture, and turgor of skin; and the presence of any lesions, edema, or clubbing. Abnormal findings - profile sign: use the profile sign (viewing the finger from the side) to detect early clubbing. The normal nail bed angle is 160 degrees.
