Don"t give bolus injection; use an infusion pump. Give drug only by piggyback infusion so that it may be stopped without interrupting iv line: intramuscular (im) 10 units may be given i, after delivery of placenta to control postpartum bleeding. Never give drug simultaneously by more than one route.
