Cancer is caused by tumours: tumours are abnormal masses of tissue, with growth exceeding that of normal tissues. Tumours are not always cancer, there are 2 forms of tumours; benign (generally don"t spread) and malignant (cancer) Capable of metastasis (able to spread to distant parts of the body): Can cer arises fr om one malign an t ce ll. Cell is capable of uncontrolled growth as a result of genetic (dna) damage, called transformation. Daughter cells are hence also capable of uncontrolled growth.
