There is no one psychoanalytic theory of personality or treatment, but a host of different theories and treatment models that have developed over more than a century through the writings of theories and practitioners from many different countries. 1856 freud born, 1877 freud works with josef breuer (had patient called anna o), 1896 coins the term psychoanalyse,1900 publishes the interpretation of dreams, 1923 develops structural model of id, ego, and superego 1933 nazis burn his books in berlin, 1939 freud dies in london. She was attractive, intelligent, white, and caring for a sick father, up until this point she was doing very well. Then she developed a series of symptoms that looked to be neurological. For example she would have paralysis of her legs, periods of deafness, or periods where she couldn"t speak. She would have seizures and wasn"t faking it but the electricity in the brain didn"t look like a seizure.
