Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth - jfk. Not all forms of conformity are bad. Some forms can be good and useful. Ex. we all drive on the same side of the rode, we all stand in line at the supermarket. Participants were told that the study was about visual perception. Across a series of trials, participants were asked to indicate which of the three comparison lines was the same length as the standard line. Participants tested in groups of 7 people, only one actual participant. On some trials, rst person provides correct answer, all others follow. On critical trails, rst person provides wrong answer, all others follow.
