At the superior border of the thyroid cartilage, they divide into external & internal carotid arteries. Right & left subclavian arteries supply blood to upper limbs. As subclavian artery passes over lateral border of first rib, name changes to the axillary artery. As axillary artery passes the inferior border of the trees major muscle, name changes to brachial artery. In the cubital fossa, brachial artery bifurcates into the ulnar & radial arteries.
