Direction of the relationship is that when children do wonderful things, that their self-esteem increases. This is the direction of the relationship, data indicates this: helping kids to be successful in terms of their performance, and self-esteem follows that. Moral development: moral reasoning, moral decision making, columbine shooting 13 kids and teacher and committed suicide. Heinz"s story: man needs money for wife who is dying and robs a store to pay for it, present this story to children and adults and asked if the drug should have been stolen or not. Evidence: with age, it is correlated with more sophisticated kinds of reasoning, clearly does appear to be a correlation between complexity in moral reasoning and age. Critique of kohlberg"s theory: contributions, systematic changes in moral judgment systematic theory that is supported by data about systematic changes in moral judgment, moral behavior relationship between sophistication of one"s moral reasoning and one"s actual behavior.
