Speaker agency- the ability of speakers to control what they do and to make conscious choices. Gender- a socially constructed identity, rather than a biological category. French and german, a way of classifying nouns, usually a feminine, masculine, or neuter. Difference model- the idea that gender differences in language reflect different cultures of conversation.
