Cells in animals with gastrovascular cavities can exchange material directly with environment (ex. Closed circulatory system: annelids, cephalopods and vertebrates, blood confined to vessels, heart pumps blood through vessels that branch and infiltrate organs, exchange between blood, interstitial flood, and body cells, more efficient delivery of o2 and nutrients. Circulatory system: single circulation o: 1 atrium, 1 ventricle, blood passes through the heart once, blood moves from heart -> gills -> organs -> heart. Circulatory system: double circulation o: blood travels to heart twice during a single circuit, 2 parts, pulmonary circuit. Right side (oxygen poor blood goes from ventricle into aorta to pulmonary circuit, which goes towards the lungs to get oxygenated blood) -> oxygen rich blood goes back to the heart on the left side: systemic circuit. Enters left side of heart, nutrient rich blood goes to organs, co2 rich blood goes back to heart: amphibians circulatory system. Amphibians have 2 atria, 1 ventricle (3 chambered heart)
