Basic question and answer -can be open- or close-ended. Usually involves surveying employees, but could involve an experimental design or big data. Can often help determine causal rather than simple correlational relationships. Controlled conditions - high degree of internal validity but potentially low generalizability. Internal validity: the less chance for confounding( variables causes acting at same time) in a study, the higher its internal validity.
