The emergence of sustained and interregional mobilizations (late 1820"s) These movements are about sin; in the mind and hearts of activist they felt they were attacking the idea of sin. Sin as cultural schema in christianity, comes with a certain demand. A frame organizes one"s perception of reality; to see a problem and see it as a sin (rather than an illness or feature of character) causes one to organize this problem in a certain way.
