Need to manage amature sports organization that are beginning to grow. Need to train the people who ran their organizations. Sports are happening and ideas from management are needed. Post wwii, increase suburbanization, baby boomers, rapid growth, becoming america of today. Interest from professional sports figures to create demand for programs of sport. Not just courses but a full program. To train future sports managers (professional organizations) Sport and management programs as an academic field of study together. Nassm (north american society for sports management ) Massive growth in number of programs offering degrees in sport pant. Field is an academic institution and wants to become legitimate. Management influences sport management but it goes towards sports even more. Sport management now influences the way you run sports/sports organizations.
