Hypothesis: goal is to make decisions that we feel good about, decisions that are reasonable and justified. Participants relied on justification in making their decision. The shift in framing caused a change in the factors relevant to that justification. This is why the shift in framing reversed the pattern of decisions. People"s decisions are powerfully influenced by emotion. People seem to assess the risk in emotional terms.
