Player"s importance: alters script, brings attention to entrance and exit. Star actor- professionally trained and seen as a star (meryl streep) Improvisation a. i. spontaneous: star turner relates to no one on screen a. i. a. ii. persona based (off screen) Intentions and interpretations of how the actors fit in the overall film. Provides visual design in which players play. Must maintain continuity (pace, rhythm, tone, etc) Editing choices which impact final appearance of player"s performance. *3 out of the 4 things a writer gives is controlled by the actor.
