Genetic correlation moves in the direction of variance - variation in the way that linkages of hte traits happen that is based on fitness. Widely accepted signal for polygenic adaptation to height. In this paper there"s a reduced signal for this polygenic adaption in the ukb dataset. Control for underlying confounding things that can happen - saw that there was less signal for polygenic adaptation than initially thoughts. All the markers are the same but magnitude for signal is not. Hard to go from gwas to effect size. If there was only single locus -> could split people who did/ didn"t have variant and take mean to be effect size, but it"s not that easy because there"s considerable disequilbrium that contirbutes to the same trait.
